Public & Residential
Italian style: unique, special.
In September 2008, Global Planning Architecture was selected from 8 international design studios in a competition promoted by one of the biggest Russian property groups to design a tourist/residential complex in Herceg Novi, a small town in Montenegro on the Adriatic coast, a few kilometres from Croatia.
The three plots covering approximately 70,000 m2 will accommodate apartment hotels, a five star hotel with SPA, sports structures and green areas. Design work starting with studying 3 luxury residential types (premium-class) with modules of a size that corresponds to the client's market analysis with a total of 147 apartments.
The design aim was to integrate contemporary architectural forms into the landscape by introducing a Mediterranean style as requested by the client. Inspired by the terraces used in crop growing in Montenegro, Global Planning Architecture produced a master plan that respected the steepness of the land and gave primary importance to a sea view.
The buildings are connected to each other by walkways in local stone that cut through large green areas.
The detailed design solutions, choice of materials and lighting are in Italian style, currently acknowledged as an added value with international appeal.
